A steering group of eleven Jewish and Muslim women met on Tuesday 10th May to discuss the launch of Nisa-Nashim in Leeds which will take place on June 1st.

Co-Chair Hilary Curwen said, “Conversation flowed easily and it was agreed by all that there was a ‘good buzz’ in the room. Everyone agreed about the need to break down barriers, and mothers and teachers particularly felt that children need to hear other voices to learn that different faith communities can get on with each other.”

Ideas for the future include getting together for knitting, reading, artmaking, and one of the attendees, who is a Blue Badge Guide, has offered walking tours of Leeds. Schools visits were also discussed. Exciting times for Nisa-Nashim in Leeds!
