In December our co-founder Julie, and Judy, one of our co-chairs, went to Limmud Festival to represent Nisa-Nashim.
Limmud Festival is the biggest event of its kind in the UK when it comes to Jewish learning and is a place intended for community learning, discovery, empowerment, diversity and debate. It usually takes place in December and the 2019 one was an enormous success.
Julie and Judy gave a talk on hair covering in Jewish and Muslim tradition – why do we cover our hair and what is the religious and cultural significance behind it. Apparently everyone loved the session, even though we really had no doubts.
