In July we hosted an event on Zoom where we discussed ‘The Unique Role of Pilgrimage in Islam and Judaism’. Over 70 women from around the country joined us to learn more about Hajj and pilgrimages in Judaism, and they heard the Quran and the Torah recited so beautifully side by side
This was a great opportunity to learn why the concept of pilgrimage is so relevant in our faiths.
Dr. Lindsey Taylor-Guthartz, PhD in anthropology and Teaching Fellow at London School of Jewish Studies, chanted a passage from the Torah for us.
Dr. Amina Begum introduced us to the concept of Taqwa.
Hifsa, Nisa-Nashim Chair of the Board, and Fahmeeda, Nisa-Nashim Dosti
co-chair, shared with everyone . their personal experiences when performing Hajj.
