Plant a Tiny Forest in Barnet
This week, London Nisa-Nashim groups helped to plant a Tiny Forest in Barnet.
There was much laughter and much squelching through mud when our members got together as Nisa-Nashim and supported a local environmental initiative to plant a Tiny Forest in Barnet.
A Tiny Forest is a dense and rapidly growing native woodland in a small area. They provide a protected habitat for wildlife, capture carbon, filter the air of harmful particulates and reduce flooding and soil loss.
Besides these important local effects, they are symbolic of our need to protect our wider environment and it is hoped it will provide an education and emotional engagement of our community.
Well done to our members for not being afraid to get a little dirty for Mother Nature!
