The United States celebrates Religious Freedom Day on October 27 each year, in order to commemorate the passing of the Religious Freedom Act of 1998. This year Nisa-Nashim was invited to a reception hosted by Ambassador Johnson on International Religious Freedom Day. The event took place at the U.S. Embassy in London and it was co-sponsored by the Foreign Office.
The Minister of State for the Commonwealth, the United Nations, and Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon were also present.
A special focus through the night was given to Diwali – a five-day festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains that coincided with Religious Freedom Day this year.
Here are pictures of three of our lovely trustees at the US Embassy. We could have not asked for better representatives!
