Thursday 15th September 2016 saw twelve Jewish and Muslim Nisa-Nashim members in the West Midlands explore the ideas of Fasting and Feasting in both traditions. The group considered what practical problems arise when having to carry out our daily tasks and who is exempt from fasting.

The Jewish Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is an intense experience but in some ways far easier to concentrate on the essentials away from daily distractions than is Ramadan, which is especially difficult during summer months. The group found much in common, especially when discussing feasting after the fasts!
